Arts Park

I am very proud to share that the Hintonburg Arts Committee selected one of my paintings for the Arts Park Poster this year. It means a lot to me that those in my community wished to use my art to promote Arts Park.

This event is really a great Family Event.  Hope to see you there... May 26th. Saturday. 2012.

thank you
Love
Patrick

I worked on this painting for two months.  It is a painting of the house across the street from my studio. I have a large window in my studio. And this is the view across the street.  I loved the red house. There is a blue door. And I added yellow to the pavement.... so that Red, Yellow, and Blue... would all compliment each other.

The large tree on the left.  Well I struggled with this.  I did not know how to approach this element of the painting.  I sat in my chair. After more time than I care to admit. Finally I painted the tree in about 10 - 15 minutes.  It just worked.

What I'm Working on for Naked Naked Naked

Firmly believing humans to be hard-wired to repetition, I am working on a series of 20-some 7 " x 7" photos which will be arranged on a tall, accordian-type free-standing display composed of 18 exact-sized squares, side by each.
There is some titillation to seeing so many naked dolls but with most of the heads removed, it is more like looking at a cadaver than anything else.

And cadavers are never clothed.
